Hi, I'm Ben.

I've lived in the Swiss Alps for 20 years. I'm a fully qualified snowboard guide and first-aid trained, so the mountains are my job year-round — Interlaken Bike Tours is what I do when the snow goes. Tours run in English and German.

Twenty years in means I know which forest track is empty on a Saturday morning, where the light hits Lauterbrunnen before the coaches arrive, and which café at the end of a climb is worth stopping at.

Why I started this

​

Plenty of places in Interlaken will hand you a bike and a map. That's a rental. I wanted to offer the ride I'd take a friend on.

Every route is one I've planned and ridden myself. Every tour is private, and I'm the guide on the day — no seasonal staff, no group of eighteen strangers.

Around 50 riders have come out with me since last September, 33 left a Google review and every one was five stars.

What a day looks like

​

You tell me what you're after and I build around it. Attack the climbs toward Lauterbrunnen on high-torque e-bikes, or roll along Lake Thun and stop wherever's worth photographing. Fit riders get a workout. Nervous first-timers get a day they didn't think they could do. Families ride at the pace of the youngest person there.

Weather turns, we change the route. Want an extra hour, we take it. Nothing runs to a timetable.
